When we were young

I was at a restaurant the other day, and I was sitting opposite a mom with her two young kids, each no older than 4. They wanted to go to the park, and the mother said, “Eat just a little more, and then we can go to the park.” The younger of the two picked up a french fry, took a teeny bite, and then put down the fry, saying, “There. Can we go to the park now?”

Um, at which point did I change from being a little person who didn’t want to eat to being a bigger person wanting to eat everything in sight?

  1. People who say they don't like food amaze me. I can't imagine what it would be like!
