Subway Sense Memory

I am sitting next to a guy on the subway who is wearing the same cologne as my high school boyfriend. It's creepy and comforting at the same time. It also fills me with a bit of rage, but I can accept that it's misplaced and let it go... (those of you who know the story of my HS boyfriend will understand the rage!) It's such a phenomenon of a big city like New York- where else can you sit unreasonably close to someone you don't know and have such a visceral reaction!
